1This agreement
These terms are a contract between you and the creators of Armilla ("Armilla", "we", "us"). By visiting armilla.dev, and later by using the Armilla service, you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use the site or the service.
If you are agreeing on behalf of an organisation or a community, you confirm you have authority to bind it.
2Pre-release status
Armilla is in development and is not open to the public. There is no sign-up yet. Accordingly:
- Statements on this site describe design intent. They are not specifications, warranties, or contractual commitments.
- There is no service level agreement, and none of the service-related sections below create one.
3Eligibility
Armilla runs on Discord, so you must be old enough to use Discord in your country — at least 13, and older where local law or Discord's terms require it.
4The service
The following applies when the service opens.
Armilla is a platform that operates Discord applications on your behalf. You will be able to use it in one of two ways:
- The public instance — a verified application we operate and maintain, which you can add to your server.
- Your own app — a Discord application you own, carrying your community's own name and presence, operated on our infrastructure on your behalf.
Which features are available, and on what terms, is at our discretion and may differ between the two.
5Acceptable use
You must not use Armilla to:
- break the law, or help anyone else do so;
- harass, stalk, dox, threaten, or coordinate abuse against anybody, or to build tooling whose purpose is any of those things;
- distribute malware, run phishing or fraud, or facilitate unauthorised access to systems or accounts;
- handle content that sexualises minors, or any other content prohibited by Discord's rules;
- evade Discord's rate limits, terms, or enforcement actions, or circumvent our own limits, quotas, or access controls;
- scrape, bulk-collect, or resell data about Discord users beyond what a feature legitimately requires;
- resell, sublicense, or rebrand the service as your own product without our written agreement;
- probe, load-test, reverse-engineer, or interfere with the service or its infrastructure, other than a good-faith security report sent to us.
You are responsible for how the people in your community use what you switch on, and for telling them what Armilla does on your server where the law requires you to.
6Your own app
The following applies when the service opens.
If you run your own Discord application through Armilla, then:
- It remains your application. You own it, you are responsible for its conduct, and you are responsible for complying with Discord's developer terms and policies in respect of it.
- You grant us the permission necessary to operate it for you — to hold its credentials, connect to Discord as that application, and take the actions your configuration calls for.
- You confirm you are entitled to grant that permission, and that supplying the credential to us breaches nobody else's rights.
- You may revoke it at any time by regenerating the token or asking us to delete it. Doing so stops the connection.
- We may decline to operate, or stop operating, any application that puts our infrastructure, our Discord standing, or other users at risk.
7Discord's terms
Armilla is an independent project, not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Discord Inc. Discord is a trademark of its owner and is used here only to identify the platform. Your use of Discord is governed by Discord's own terms and policies; where those conflict with what you are trying to do with Armilla, Discord's terms win.
8Availability and change
We may add, change, restrict, or remove features at any time, and may suspend or discontinue the service in whole or in part. Where a removal or a shutdown would materially affect you, we will give reasonable notice and, where we are able to, a way to export your configuration first.
If we introduce paid plans, the commitments attached to them — including anything we promise about availability or about preserving your data — will be set out at that point and will apply only to those plans. Nothing on this page is such a commitment today, and section 12 continues to apply.
9Fees
Armilla currently costs nothing because it is not available. We may introduce paid plans or paid capacity in future. If we do, pricing and payment terms will be presented before you are asked to commit to anything, and no charge will ever be applied without you actively agreeing to it.
10Intellectual property
The Armilla name, the armillary sphere mark, this site, and the software behind the service are ours and remain ours. Nothing here transfers any of it to you, and you get no licence to use our name or mark to imply endorsement or affiliation.
Your content and configuration remain yours. You grant us only the limited licence needed to store and process them in order to run the service for you.
11Feedback
If you send us ideas, bug reports, or suggestions, we may act on them freely and without obligation, payment, or attribution.
12Disclaimers
The site, and the service when it opens, are provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory — including any implied warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.
Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. If you are a consumer, your statutory rights are unaffected.
13Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, nor for lost profits, lost data, lost goodwill, or business interruption, arising out of or connected with your use of the site or the service.
14Indemnity
You agree to indemnify us against claims, losses, and reasonable costs arising from your breach of these terms, from your misuse of the service, or from the operation of a Discord application you asked us to run on your behalf.
15Suspension and termination
You may stop using Armilla whenever you like, by removing it from your servers. We may suspend or terminate your access, with or without notice, if you breach these terms, if your use threatens the service or other users, or if we are required to by law or by Discord. Where the situation allows it, we will warn you first.
Sections 10 through 14 survive termination.
16Changes to these terms
We will update these terms as Armilla develops, and expect to revise them substantially at launch. The date at the top reflects the current version. Continuing to use the site or the service after a change means you accept the revised terms; if you do not, stop using them.
